The SHINE project held their week long kick-off meeting at the end of April in Kumasi, Ghana. The 25-person team from 8 different countries met in-person for the first time, re-establishing existing partnerships, building new connections and defining how ‘well-being’ will be at the heart of the project over the next 3 years. As well as running workshop sessions in Kumasi and Accra, the team visited microgrids on island communities, in the Ada District in the Greater Accra Region to contextualise the transdisciplinary challenges energy access presents.
