SHINE Colleague Dr Adama Gassama Jallow, Senior Energy Officer at University of The Gambia delivered a plenary talk at this year’s SUPERGEN annual conference, which was held at the University of Bath from 8-9 September.

Dr Jallow presented about her experience in The Gambia embedding gender into energy access policy.

Dr Sam Williamson and Dr Charlotte Ray from SHINE also participated in the Conference. Dr Williamson described how a powerful statement from Dr Jallow’s talk: “Women are primary managers of energy [within a household], but completely underrepresented in the decision making process” had left him with a lot to think about as we develop our research.
